What Is a Random Video Call?
A random video call connects you face to face with a stranger chosen at random. Unlike a normal call, you do not need anyone's number and they never see yours. If the conversation is good, keep talking. If not, press Next and you are connected to someone else in seconds.
People use it to practise English, make friends in other cities and countries, or just pass the time with a real conversation instead of scrolling.

Low Data, Smooth Calls: Connection Tips
A random video call uses roughly 5 to 10 MB of data per minute, depending on camera quality and signal. These tips keep calls smooth on a phone:
Use Wi-Fi when you can
If your daily data pack is small, a few long calls can use a big part of it. Wi-Fi saves your pack for later.
Face the light
A window or lamp in front of you makes your video clearer than any phone setting, especially on a weak connection.
Close other apps
Downloads and video apps running in the background take bandwidth away from your call.
Switch network if it freezes
Moving between Wi-Fi and 4G or 5G usually fixes a frozen call faster than reloading.
Stay Safe on Random Video Calls
The most common trick on random video calls is a stranger who records the call and later threatens to share it unless you pay. Protect yourself:
- Assume any call can be recorded. Never do anything on camera you would not want saved.
- Do not share your name, phone number, Instagram or workplace with someone you just met.
- If anyone threatens you, do not pay. Stop replying, keep screenshots and report them to the police.
- Press Next on anyone who makes you uncomfortable, and use the report button so they get banned.
